Tuesday, January 5, we moved to Galveston Island State Park. This is our campsite. We had a nice shelter with a picnic table and a great view of the Gulf of Mexico.
After we set up, we went for a run on the beach. Well, Mom and Dad walked and I ran. There was SO much good stuff to sniff and eat. It was the BEST.
After going on the beach, we got into the Jeep and went into Galveston (the town) and drove around. Mom and Dad went for a walk on The Strand where there are lots of shops with things Humans might like. They got a late lunch/early dinner. Dad had Gumbo and Mom had Shrimp. This is their food.
Wednesday, January 6 - Mom and Dad met Dad's cousin Teresa and her husband Devon for lunch. Teresa and Devon mainly live in Houston, but they also have a condo in Galveston and they stay there sometimes. After lunch, we all went to see their condo, even me. That was cool that I got to go. After all the excitement of checking out their place, I went back to the Jeep for a nap. Teresa and Devon took Mom and Dad for a personal tour of the Elissa. The Elissa is a three masted sailboat and Teresa and Devon volunteer to crew on it. Mom said the tour was really cool.
Thursday, January 7 - Mom and Dad went for a tour of an offshore Drilling Rig. It's anchored in port at Galveston. This is the rig.
There were also lots of cool birds around the drilling rig, like these guys.
After the tour of the offshore Oil Rig, we packed up and left Galveston. We moved to Spring Creek Park near Tomball, TX. I didn't get a picture of our campsite, but it was really nice. It's a county park with full hookups and it's FREE. There was lots of room for me to go for walks. If you are ever in NW Houston, I highly recommend this park.
Tomball is on the Northwest corner of Houston. It's near Spring where Mom and Dad lived when they worked for Compaq Computer, nearly 20 years ago.
Thursday night Mom and Dad went to dinner with Dad's former colleague Robert and his wife. They had lots of fun catching up.
Friday, January 8 - Dad and Mom took me for a drive to see their old house, where they worked, and places where they went when they lived there. I liked seeing all that stuff. Friday night Mom and Dad went out to dinner with another former colleague of Dad's.
Saturday, January 9 - We went into Central Houston. We went for a walk in Herman Park and drove around to places where Mom and Dad used to go when they lived here. In the evening, Mom and Dad went to dinner with Dad's cousin Amy and her husband Johnston. They went to a Persian restaurant. Mom hasn't stopped talking about how much she liked it. After dinner, we went to Johnston and Amy's house.
Sunday, January 10 - Mom and Dad's friends Chuck and Jill came to our house. They sat and talked with us for awhile and then they took Mom and Dad to lunch. I stayed home and caught up on my sleep. After lunch, Mom and Dad came back home and we went for a walk in the park.
Monday, January 11 - Today we left Houston (Tomball) and moved to Fredericksburg, Texas. Fredericksburg is west of Austin in the part of Texas called the Hill Country. We plan to stay here for the next three nights. On the way here, we stopped at a Buc-ee's. Buc-ee's is a chain of gas stations. We've never stopped at one before. They are really cool. I got to meet Buc-ee and here's a picture of him with me and Dad. Also, a picture of the gas station. It's really BIG. Everything is bigger in Texas.

Hi, Doolin -- I'm getting a chance to catch up reading your b!og. Sounds like you're having lots of fun and looking at lots of memories with Mom & Dad. I like seeing the pictures. Say "Hi" to Mom & Dad.
