The bridge that we are on is new and the old bridge next to it is being removed. It was really strange seeing a bridge being disassembled.
We spent the day driving, a lot of it in pretty heavy traffic, but by the end of the day we were at Greenbelt National Park in Greenbelt, Maryland.

If you plan to take an RV to Washington, DC, we recommend Greenbelt National Park. As you can see in the above photo, it's an oasis in an urban jungle. It's close to the intersection of I-95 and I-495 just north of Washington, DC. It's convenient to the Metro green line. The price is great at $20/night and there is fresh water and a dump station. On the negative side, the trees are a little close on some of the sites, many sites aren't real level, and electricity is NOT provided. You need to run your generator. However, compared to $83/night at the commercial park down the street, we didn't mind spending a little diesel fuel in the generator and once we were parked, we enjoyed all the space between the sites.
Tuesday, October 23 - The weather forecast says that this is supposed to be the nicest weather day for several days, so Mom and Dad decided to spend it outside at the National Zoo.

After their visit to the zoo, they walked to the National Cathedral.
Then they got on the Metro and came out near a famous house. There were a few people who seemed to want to say something to the guy who lives there.
Then, Mom and Dad decided that they'd had just about enough walking for one day, so got on the Metro and came back to me.
Wednesday, October 24 - Today, Mom and Dad decided to go into DC and do the Hop On, Hop Off bus tour. They saw lots of things...

Thursday, October 25 - Today Mom and Dad went to the National Portrait Gallery and the American Art Museum. The two museums share a building. Mom wanted to see a couple of things and they were planning on a quick stop, but ended up spending about 1/2 the day.

Wow! That's just the first 4 days of our 8 day stay at Greenbelt Park. I need a rest!!! I'll tell you about the rest of our stay at Greenbelt Park in my next post.
