Last night at the Class Reunion banquet, one
of Mom's classmates said that he was building a train on his farm. He invited Mom and Dad to come visit him “anytime”. Note of caution – when you invite Mom and Dad to come
visit, you really need to mean it, cause they might just do it!
While they were on the ride, they took Uncle Gary to see Mom’s friend’s
trains. Mom’s friend has 1/8 scale
trains, so they are big enough to ride on.
Uncle Gary got to be the Engineer.
He was really happy!
They also went to see the crops on Mom's farm. The beans on Mom's farm are pretty tall this year.
Tonight they went to see Mom’s cousin Mark and his family. They forgot to take a picture, but she said
they had a nice visit.
Monday, July 30 –
Today Mom and Dad went to see Uncle Gary again and took him out for lunch. Today Mom and Dad split a Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. This is a popular meal in the Midwest. When they saw it, they were glad that they were sharing it.
In the evening they went to see Mom’s friend
Jo and her husband Dale. Sorry, they
didn’t take pictures for me.
Tuesday, July 31 –
You probably are detecting a pattern.
Lunch with Uncle Gary and dinner with a friend. I hung out in the air conditioning in the
campground.
Wednesday, August 1
– Today we said goodbye to Geneseo and headed North to visit Mom’s cousin
Robin near Lena, Illinois. Robin is a special cousin, since
she’s double related to Mom. Mom’s Mom
and Robin’s Grandpa are 1st cousins.
Mom’s Dad and Robin’s Grandma are also distant cousins. Mom still needs to figure that out, but knows
they are related.
We stayed at a nice State Park called Lake
La-Aqua-Na, which is close to Robin’s house, so I could hang out in the
A/C. Mom and Dad spent the afternoon at
Robin’s house then brought her to see me and then the humans all went out for
dinner. I took this photo when they came
by to see me. Do you see the family resemblance?

Thursday, August 2
– Today we continued on our adventure.
We continued east to Valparaiso, Indiana. Dad has a High School friend that lives
here. She and her Husband came out to meet us at the Wal-Mart where we are parked. They took Mom and Dad into town for dinner. Then they came back to our place to
chat. I liked being able to meet them
and Mom and Dad both enjoyed dinner and the visit.
Welcome to Indiana
