Matt has to work again today, so we are on our own. We took the Jeep to the town of Estes Park. Estes Park is on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park and we drove into the park on Trail Ridge Road. We drove to over 12,200 ft. When we started, there were trees. Then, the trees got really short and sort of blown over. Then, there weren’t any more trees. It was awesome.
There was LOTS of snow. In fact, we had to turn back at the Alpine Visitor Center because the road was closed. It was a really pretty drive. We saw thousands of Elk. Well at least it was a lot. Mom said she counted 20 in one herd, 12 in another, 6 in another, and several places we saw one or two by themselves.
Mom and Dad had dinner in Estes Park before we drove home. I had to wait until we got back to Matt’s house and then all I had was kibble.

That's actual snow fall, not a pile from the lot. |
